The collection consists of a single piece of linen wing fabric from Dayton-Wright Airplane Company. An embroidery pattern has been drawn on one side. The fabric is 32 1/2" wide x 44-48" long.

Biographical / Historical
Albert V. Gress, Sr., 1897-1971, worked at the Dayton-Wright Airplane Company factory in Moraine in 1918, before serving 4 months in the military from August to December 1918. After the war, he was employed at the Dayton Post Office for many years. Albert and his wife Hester had two sons: Albert Jr. (1920-2008) and Winston.

This item was donated to Wright State Unversity Libraries' Special Collections and Archives by Albert V. Gress, Jr., and Ruth Gress in June 2006. Albert's father worked at the Dayton-Wright Airplane Company.
