Scope and Contents
The records are divided into two series: Union Internal Operations and the companies' records whose employees are IUE members. The union records are divided into six subseries; Constitution, Minutes, General Information, Recreation Association, Lawsuits, and National Labor Relations Board. The Company records consist of twenty one subseries: Harris Seybold Company, Allied EGRY Business Systems, Inc., Fogarty Manufacturing Co., Tait Manufacturing Co., Cabot Corp., Standard Register Co., Overlook Mutual Homes, Inc., Ohio City Sash and Door Co., Tii Dee Products, Vernay Laboratories, Inc., Royal Souders, Inc., Burger Iron Co., Standard Electrical Products, Dyna Corp., Buckeye Iron and Brass, Gondert and Lienesch, Inc., Buckeye Tools Division of Rockwell Manufacturing Co., Kits, Inc., Master Vibrator Co., Kuhns Brothers Co., and Chrysler Airtemp.
The Constitutions (Series I, Subseries 1) are dated 1960 and 1961. The Minutes (Subseries 2) are Executive Board and Membership Minutes, 1947 1966; Shop Committee Minutes and Agendas, 1962 1968; and District Seven Minutes, 1967. The General Information Subseries (3) contains records from 1959 to 1969 and includes labor information reporting guidelines, financial reports, union officers, IUE Pension Fund, and grievance procedure manual. The Recreation Subseries (4) contains a constitution (n.d.); Minutes: 1947, 1958, 1960; zoning dispute records 1958 1960; construction records of the Recreation Building, 1958 and 1959; and Building Deed and Receivership, 1947 1960. Subseries 5 contains lawsuits concerning receivership and zoning of Union Buildings, 1950 and 1951. The National Labor Relations Board Subseries (6) contains records of the Lenco Case, a dispute where the company refused to recognize union representation and bargaining rights.
The Company Records Series consists of minutes, agreements (including pension, retirement and insurance records), negotiations and proposals, arbitrations, mediations, grievances, plant rules, annual reports, National Labor Relations Board Cases, financial reports, by laws, and correspondence of the various company records subseries (1 39) from 1953 1971.

Historical Note
The International Union of Electrical Radio, and Machine Workers Local 768 was known as United Electrical Workers 768 until November 12, 1949. It was an amalgamated local which had over 1,600 members in sixteen factories. The union was located at 4127 East Second Street, Dayton, Ohio.

Abstract
Local 768 represents workers at several small manufacturing plants in Dayton. Included in this collection are membership and Executive Board minutes, Shop Committee minutes, financial records, negotiation records, agreements, annual reports, and grievances.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The records of the International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers Local 768 were accessioned into the Wright State University Archives and Special Collections Department by the Ohio Labor History Project in February 1981.
