Abstract

The collection consists of interurban train schedules for cities in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The schedules include information about the train lines, arrival and departure times, stations, distances, and sometimes fares, as well as advertisements and often a short business directory for the particular city. The advertisements were sold by L. M. Berry, later founder of L. M. Berry and Company, an extremely successful telephone directory publishing company.

Scope and Contents The collection two sheets of handwritten documentation concerning the settlement of debts of Samuel and Mary Berryhill, following their deaths. One page, from 1851-1852, details Samuel Berryhill’s debt of $31.80 to William Sheppeard, for home improvements/repairs in July 1849. Abstract

Photographs relating to aviation in this collection depict topics such as pilots, airplanes, naval ships, and military personnel around the time of World War II. The collection also contains aerial photographs of city landscapes and of the 1937 flood in southwest Ohio and Kentucky. The majority of the photographs in the collection are not dated and most are unidentified.

Collection contains photocopies of a ballad and letters relating to the American Civil War, written by Jacob Bier to his wife, Nancy.

Abstract

Papers reflect the civic involvements of Bieser, a Dayton attorney. Included are materials from several organizations including the Dayton Research Association, the Dayton Peace Council, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, the Dayton Draft Board (1940-1946), the Public Library Advisory Committee, and Dayton City Improvement.

Scope and Contents Wilbur F. H. Bigelow, Sr., was a foreman in the Mill department of Dayton-Wright Airplane Company factory at Moraine (Plant 1), during World War I. The scrapbook contains approximately 62 original photographs depicting the Lincoln Airplane and Flying School in Lincoln, Nebraska; the Fairchild factory at Hagerstown, Maryland; as well as scenes at Niagara Falls and Dayton, Ohio. Also included are several clippings from The Philadelphia Inquirer's U.S. Warplane Series (Nos. 7-24).
