History of Bimel Buggy Company
Lorenzo Bimel of St. Marys moved to Sidney in 1854 to open a buggy manufacturing business known as the Bimel Buggy Company. The company made various types of buggies, carriages and runabouts with either steel or rubber tires. Each year, the company made hundreds of 'Storm King' buggies for the winter season. Mr. Bimel returned to St. Marys in 1860 after his business closed.

Acquisition Information
The records of the Bimel Buggy Company were transferred to the Wright State University by the Local Fields Records Representative from the Shelby County Courthouse in Sidney, Ohio, May 1976.
