Abstract

Collection consists of early photographs of Dayton-area flying fields. Included are photographs of McCook Field taken between 1918 and 1927, Wright Field between 1918-1931, Patterson Field for the period 1940-1967, and Fairfield Air Depot Reservation from 1923-1940.

Scope and Contents

Two staff photographs from 1962 documenting the 20-Year and 25-year club members, who are identified under the photos.

Abstract

Richard Fullerton was a local photographer, historian and collector. His Jane Reece collection consists primarily of images which document the renovation of Reece's home and studio, an old firehouse on 834 Riverside Drive in Dayton, and photographs and information about the surrounding neighborhood. Also included are interior and exterior photographs of Reece's studio and a few examples of her artistic photography.

Abstract This collection consists of over 2,000 photographs and negatives collected, and in some cases taken by Richard Fullerton, who spent his career in the photography laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The portrait photography in the collection represents predominant photographic processes, portraiture styles, and formats from the second half of the 19th century. Abstract

Bill Garlow was an award-winning staff photographer for the Dayton Journal-Herald and later Dayton Daily News for over 40 years, from the mid-1960s to mid-2000s. The collection consists of thousands of film negatives (mostly 35mm), spanning a wide variety of topics, people, places, and events. The materials are arranged chronologically.

Scope and Contents This collection contains documents and a photograph regarding George Bucklin's position at Wright Field, patent information on Bucklin's photographic process aid, genealogical information on the Bucklin family (including George's unpublished autobiography), and family correspondence. Abstract

The collection consists of one photographic album that depicts Gunermann's early flying career, parachuting, flight school and barnstorming. It provides valuable insight on the aviation community in pre-Nazi and early Nazi Germany. Most of the photographs in the collection are identified and dated (1918-1936).

Abstract

Bergen Hardesty (1915-1994) was a trained draughtsman and as a hobby built realistic model airplanes. The Bergen Hardesty Aviation Collection contains extensive research and accurate drawings on a large variety of aircraft focused on World War I and II military aircraft. The collection also contains many aircraft photographs, along with negatives, blueprints, correspondence, histories of WW I aviation units, newspaper clippings, and photograph albums.
