Roosevelt High School Collection (SC-167)
The dedication program and 2 yearbooks (1924, 1925) from Roosevelt High School, Dayton, Ohio. The collection was originally owned by Harold Williams. The yearbooks also include signatures of classmates.
Twin Valley School Blueprints (MS-474)
The collection contains 30 blueprints for renovations of four school buildings in Preble County’s Twin Valley Local School District: North High School (Lewisburg), Lewisburg Elementary School, Verona Elementary and Junior High School, and South High School (West Alexandria). They include floor plans, exterior views, and plans about heating, plumbing, and lighting.
Dayton Cooperative High School Class of 1941 Photographs
Individual 2 ¼” x 3 ¼” black and white portraits of 234 members of the Dayton Cooperative High School graduating class of 1941. Principal Clare Sharkey and Class Advisor Ruth Werst are also included.
Margaret Shardelow Young Papers
Dayton native, Margaret Shardelow Young, was a member of the Friday Afternoon Club, one of the city's oldest women's literary clubs. She was also a local school teacher and long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Dayton. The collection includes her Friday Afternoon Club writings, schoolbooks, teaching notes, photographs, and greeting cards with her original poetry.
Grace A. Greene Normal School Alumnae Records
This collection consists of scrapbooks, memorabilia, lists of graduates, and reunion materials. Grace A. Greene Normal School first opened in 1869 as Dayton Normal School, and later became Dayton Teacher’s College, before being named Grace A. Greene Normal School. The school gave rudimentary education to women who wished to become teachers in the Dayton area. It closed in 1931, but an active alumnae group continued for many years.
