Abstract

Sigma Alpha Iota is an international professional music fraternity for women that was founded in 1903 at the University of Michigan. The Dayton Alumnae Chapter was officially chartered in 1959 with 19 members, and is still active today. This collection contains administrative documents, yearbooks, scrapbooks, and photographs related to the Dayton Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota from 1959 to 2020.

Abstract The Southwest Ohio School Nurses Association (SWOSNA) was founded in late 1967, with a primary purpose of developing strategies to obtain mandatory school health services and certification. Collection contains some materials which pertain to the National Special Libraries Association, however, most material deals with the activities of the local Central Ohio Chapter, previously named the Dayton chapter. Included are chapter by-laws, minutes, workshop and conference reports, bulletins, financial records and printed materials.

Abstract The St. Elizabeth Hospital Records document the growth and expansion of the Franciscan Health Network in Dayton. The hospital was established in 1878 and founded as Dayton's first community hospital by the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor. Expansion and construction began in 1882 and continued throughout the hospital's existence. The collection includes photographs and negatives documenting this development overtime. Abstract

The Tecumseh High School Class of 1955 Collection contains primarily clippings, programs, photographs, scrapbooks, and mementos from class members’ time in high school, as well as later alumni and reunion activities. The basketball team, which was quite good at the time, is strongly represented in the collection. The scrapbook of German exchange student Gudrun Klotz from the class’s senior year is also particularly noteworthy.
