Abstract

This collection consists of approximately 70 archaeological surveys undertaken by Dr. Robert V. Riordan Professor Emeritus in the Wright State University Anthropology Department. A portion of the archaeological surveys were completed by Wright State University students through the Anthropology Department’s Archaeological Field School. Dr. Riordan completed the remaining surveys as a private contractor.

Scope and Contents

The core of his collection was donated by Dr. Homer E. Cassel. The collection consists of county histories, autobiographies, obituaries, directories, and the histories and annual reports of hospitals in the Miami Valley and southwest Ohio.

Abstract Dr. Martz graduated from the Ohio Medical College in Cincinnati, Ohio in March 1891. He began his medical practice in Palestine, Darke County, and eight years later moved his practice to Greenville, Ohio. The notebook contains detailed notes from his course work in Medical School. Abstract

Several issues of “The Darke County Boy,” a local Greenville newspaper written and edited by George Washington Calderwood, with dates ranging between 1910 and 1912.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of a miscellaneous collection of receipts, correspondence, executions and summons, photographs, articles of agreement, etc., mainly from Darke County, Ohio. The first two folders contain primarily Darke County local government records such as contracts, executions, and summons. Many of these records were signed by William Hess or Jesse R.
