The majority of the Neil Armstrong VIP File focuses on astronaut Neil Armstrong's visits to the Miami Valley, particularly on his homecoming celebrations in his home town of Wapakoneta in 1966 and 1969, which also include photos of his wife, children, parents, and sites relevant to his early life. There are also several photos of Armstrong speaking at Memorial Hall in 1973.

Of particular interest, there are several photographs of 1962 homecoming celebrations in his hometown of New Concord, Ohio, following the successful NASA mission Friendship 7, in which Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth.
