This photograph album documents the journey of the William D. McCarthy family from Dayton, Ohio, to California from June through December 1921. During the family's travels they visited a variety of places including Hannibal, Missouri; Pikes Peak, Colorado; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Flagstaff, Arizona; cliff dwellings; the Grand Canyon; the Mojave Desert; San Gabriel Valley, California; and Pasadena, California.
