Biographical / Historical

Giovanni “John” Pirelli was a WW1 American aviator who had died while testing planes for Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1919. The lodge was organized soon afterwards and supported hundreds of Italians immigrating to the Dayton area. This chapter is part of the larger Società of the United states. The Dayton chapter held a connection to many local Catholic churches before obtaining a building of their own. They hold Columbus Day Dinners and other activities surrounding Italian heritage, like the Italian Festa, to this day.
