Biographical / Historical
The Jefferson-Main Arcade Market opened on November 28, 1921, with frontage on S. Main Street, just north of the alley between Fifth and Sixth Streets, and spanning a distance along that alley towards Jefferson Street. (This site was later occupied by the Dayton Convention Center.) Merchants rented booths in the market to sell food and other goods.
The officers of the Company included: Dr. Carl Henry Breidenbach (president and treasurer), Charles Hamiel and Dr. E. P. Arn (vice presidents), and E. Lyman Brooks (secretary). Dr. Carl H. Breidenbach (1868-1926) was Warren's uncle.
