Levi H. Stand Civil War Materials (SC-264)
Scope and Contents
This collection contains three Civil War related items including a diary, a hymn book, and a letter.
Two items relate to Levi Stands, who fought in the Civil War. The first item is an original hymn book for the Army and Navy. Handwritten notations inside the back cover indicate that this book was carried by Levi H. Stands in the latter years of the Civil War. Also included in the collection is a typed transcript of Levi Stands’ diary, completed by Seifried’s daughter.
A third item in this collection is a photocopy and transcript of a letter dated Feb. 15, 1865, discussing a family member who was injured during the war and the treatment which followed.
