Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two copies of a translated account of a 9 year-old French boy who was present at a demonstration flight that Wilbur Wright did near Le Mans, France in 1908. The translation is an extract from “Journal of a Child of the Belle Epoque.” The journal is a manuscript of Roger Verdier who wrote of his account. Included in the translation is an introduction as well as commentary by Regis Pluchet a French Journalist who sent this information to the creator of the collection. The collection also includes copies of some photographs from an unknown source.
