Frigidaire Recipe Book
Scope and Contents
Frigidaire recipe book used as advertising for GM's Frigidaire division, dated 1931. The booklet contains recipes, mostly for desserts and salads, tailored to use the features of a Frigidaire refrigerator. Recipes for desserts include dishes like custards and creams, mousses, parfaits, and sherbets. Salads included are vegetable salads, fruit salads, and meat salads, as well as salad dressing recipes to accompany each salad type. A final section includes instructions for making decorative ice cubes. Also included in the booklet are instructions for the effective use of the refrigerator.

Biographical / Historical
Frigidaire was a subsidiary of the General Motors Corporation. Verna L. Miller, credited as having tested and approved the recipes included in the book, served as the official Home Economist for Frigidaire Corporation at the time of the book’s publication.
