Miami Valley Genealogical Society Papers (SC-38)
Scope and Contents
The MVGS collection consists of one folder containing twenty-two items on various and diverse subjects ranging in date from 1784 to 1847. With few exceptions, much of the collection consists of unrelated business correspondence, court entries, writs, summonses, affidavits and land warrants, primarily dealing with property transactions in early nineteenth century Ohio and Virginia. The collection is primarily of genealogical value, the collection also provides a valuable insight into the changes in land ownership during Ohio’s transition from frontier territory to statehood.
