Abstract Joyce Wolfe was one of the first students of Josephine Schwarz. She maintained correspondence with her teacher afterwards and eventually began collecting papers related to her. Josephine Schwarz was considered a pioneer of dance in Dayton, starting with the Schwarz School of Dance, which she founded in Dayton with her sister Hermene.
