 Sub-Series

Scope and Content

From the Collection:

Series I, Administrative, includes founding documents, Board of Trustee Minutes, annual reports, strategic and stewardship plans, correspondence, and procedures. It also includes files on related organizations, including Greenplex, Hebble Creek Watershed Coalition, and the Scenic Mad River Committee.

Series II, Land, is the largest series and contains records concerning the various properties and sites that the B-W Greenway monitors and conserves. The series is subdivided according to which site the records pertain to. Properties are listed in alphabetical order by name. General files or files pertaining to multiple properties (such as summary lists) are at the beginning, then followed by the individual properties. The types of records in this series include deeds and easement agreements, condition reports, easement monitoring reports, project plans, grant-related materials, and photographs (usually within the reports). The individual properties included are: Anderson Fen; the Bee property (2581 Trebein); Buckeye Grove North (aka Adrian property / Wenrick Expansion); Buckeye Grove South; Clark County Wellfield; Community Park; Enix property (2531 Trebein); Garland Wetland Reserve; Gronbeck Fen; Hebble Creek Reserve; Heider Fen; Jurick property; Leadingham Prairie Entrance (aka Wenrick/Pence); Lokai property; Mad River Entrance; Mud Run; Peckuwe Woods; Spring Run Farms, Inc.; and Valle View Reserve.

Series III, Publications, includes publications created by the organization. Most notably, it includes a fairly complete run of "The Green Heart" newsletter. It also includes brochures; the B-W Greenway Guide Book; "Discovering the B-W Greenway" publication; and several editions the Local Food Sources Directory produced by B-W Greenway.

Series IV, Outreach Programs, includes files relating to programs and events in which B-W Greenway participated. There are calendar bookmarks events and activities sponsored by B-W Greenway, as well as a file with further information on such events. There are also two files for events in which B-W Greenway participated (but was not the main organizer), most notably Fairborn's annual Sweet Corn Festival.

Series V, Clippings, contains press coverage about B-W Greenway activities and (to a lesser extent) articles on topics of interest to B-W Greenway. Most of the clippings are from local newspapers, but a few are from clippings from newsletters or other publications. The clippings are arranged according to publication date.

Series VI, Artwork, contains original artwork done by Joseph Barrish. The artworks, which were featured in "The Green Heart" newsletter, consist of water colored portraits of various flowers that are found in the B-W Greenway's wetlands area. The letters and numbers next to the flower name indicate which volume and issue number of "The Green Heart" the artwork was featured in. The copyright for the artwork is held by the artist.
