Scope and Contents
This scrapbook contains photographs and clippings mostly pertaining to Wright Brothers anniversaries and commemorations, such as: visitors from the Aéroclub du Béarn (Pau, France), including Marie-France Leire and Pierre Ranque (with John Warlick); Wright Brothers memorabilia inside Horace and Susan Wright’s home; tree planting at Hawthorn Hill; activities at the Wright Memorial; dedication of a monument at Wright Field (in front of the Aeronautical Systems Division, Air Force Systems Command building, probably Building 14); Horace Wright and Ivonette Wright Miller with military personnel and experiment team members, alongside a Tektronix computer used in experiments to design aircraft (1983); Wright family members at award signing at Air Force Museum with U.S. Secretary of the Air Force Verne Orr, also with a piece of Wright Flyer fabric (1985); photos from Ed White and Horace Wright interview about the Wright Flying School in Montgomery, Alabama (1985); groundbreaking for the Air Force Museum’s second hangar (1985), including Horace Wright, Ivonette Wright Miller, Ervin Nutter, and Virginia Kettering; and dedication of the Arnold House at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (1986); and original photos from Pau (1984).
