News Death Notice

FREDERICK, Jeremy Carl was called to heaven the morning of August 16, 2012, and he is already busy helping the angels laugh and sing. Jeremy was born on 12/9/72, and from early on in his life he entertained everyone through his stories and music. Jeremy was a 1991 Beavercreek High School graduate and a permanent Wright State University student. Jeremy was a fixture in the Dayton area, and his music was enjoyed by people around the world. He began his love affair with performing for the public when he was handed the microphone to do the Pledge of Allegiance at a Boy Scout function, and this avocation was quickly confirmed when he and Tyler Trent performed as the Dueling Drummers in a junior high talent contest. Jeremy went on to create or perform in bands such as Sunken Giraffe, Tribal Nation, Cigarhead, Lazy, Dirty Walk, Let's Crash, and the Human Reunion. Although Jeremy seemed happiest when he was performing, the most joyful event of his life was the birth of his daughter, Isabella Frederick. Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Kay Frederick and Bud and Elaine Ward, his uncle Phil Frederick, and his best friend Tim Taylor. In addition to his parents, Carl (Butch) and Jackie Frederick, Jeremy leaves behind many loved ones: his daughter Isabella Frederick and her mother Erin Stockton, his girlfriend Carolyn Hoogsteden, aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many friends to name. You could not go anywhere in Dayton with Jeremy without him running into someone he knew. A celebration of his life will be held at Blind Bob's on Fifth Street in Dayton on Friday 8/24 from 6 - 10 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 12 noon Saturday 8/25 at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, Dayton. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Isabella Frederick Educational Fund, Wright Patt Credit Union, P.O. Box 286, Fairborn, Ohio 45324. In Jeremy's memory, please go out and support the local music scene (it's worth the cover charge!)
