A collection of portraits, snapshots, tintypes, ambrotypes, carte de visites, stereographs, and glass negatives from an extended family in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Subjects include family groups, the Carr Nursery, Antioch College, and a set of autographed portraits and faculty at Ohio Wesleyan College in the 1870s.

Oscar D. Ladley Papers
Oscar D. Ladley was a career army officer who fought in the Civil War with Company G, 75th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was later assigned to Fort Sully in the Dakota Territories. His papers consist primarily of letters written to his mother and sisters in Yellow Springs, Ohio, telling of his Civil Was experiences, and later, his life as a frontier army officer. Also included are some Civil War military records.

Original copy of L’Aerophile, April 1903 edition containing the following articles: On page 81-87 article discusses the Wright Brothers progress in flight and contains photographs of the Wright Brothers 1902 glider test at Kill Devil Hills, N.C. Also on page 87 is a letter from M. Ernest Archdeacon discussing the Wright Brothers as well.

Christopher Lake was an aviation researcher and engineer whose most important aeronautical invention may have been his reaction engine, which was an early form of jet propulsion. The collection includes Lake's patents, photographs, newspaper clippings, and a letter from Orville Wright.
