Arthur Compton Jr./ Trailsend Club Collection
The records concern the founding and first years of the Trailsend Club of Dayton. Mr. Compton kept very good records of the early organization of the Club, meeting minutes, member bulletins, finances, and much more. Of particular interest are the records concerning the purchase and transformation of former Ohio Governor James Cox's mansion known as Trailsend into an exclusive social club.
Dayton Amateur Movie Makers Club Records
Formed in 1943 by a group of local film makers, the Dayton Amateur Movie Makers Club's records consist of meeting minutes, membership lists, newsletters containing club programs, correspondence, and several films produced by club members.
Dayton Bicycle Club Records
The Dayton Bicycle Club Records consist of primarily financial records and receipts from the club from the early 20th century. The collection contains receipts from around 500, mostly local, businesses that provide an important record of how business was conducted around the turn of the 20th century. Also included is a limited amount of correspondence relating to club business and the organization of bicycle races.
Dayton YMCA Records
The Dayton YMCA Collection contains items pertaining to the history the Dayton area YMCAs. Administrative papers, newspaper clippings, and photographs constitute the bulk of the collection.
Discussion Club of Dayton Records
The Discussion Club of Dayton was founded in 1931 to provide a forum for civic leaders and professionals to meet and discuss the issues of the day. Records include correspondence, the club's monthly bulletin with information about program topics, and membership surveys. The club dissolved in 2011.
The Exchange Club of Dayton Records
This collection consists of membership rosters, budget/expense reports, and minutes from various meetings of the Dayton Chapter of The Exchange Club. Information on local programs and events as well as the history of the national organization are included. Newsletters (local, regional, and national), photographs and other memorabilia are also contained in this collection.
