Oscar Edelman Papers

Abstract

Edelman was a long-time, active member of the Socialist Party in Dayton, Ohio and for a period, served as business manager for the local Socialist newspaper, Miami Valley Socialist. His papers include correspondence, clippings, political literature, Socialist campaign materials, working papers, a minute book of the Young Socialist League in Dayton (1915), scattered copies of Miami Valley Socialist, and a collection of state and national Socialist Party literature.

Ermal C. Fraze, Dayton Reliable Tool Company Records

Abstract

Ermal C. Fraze was the owner of Dayton Reliable Tool Company and the inventor of the early versions of Pull-Tabs and Pop-Tops. This collection includes newspaper clippings, magazine articles, scrapbooks, correspondences, photographs and personal items. Most of the collection pertains to the Dayton Reliable Tool Company. A few items deal with the Fraze Pavilion, a 4300-seat outdoor amphitheater in Kettering, Ohio, named after Ermal C. Fraze.

Katharine Houk Talbott founded the Garden Club of Dayton in 1922. The Greater Springfield and Clark County Association was a volunteer organization that mobilized local efforts to promote the civic welfare of the Clark County area. Records include Board of Directors and Executive Committee minutes, records and reports of various committees, correspondence, membership rolls, and extensive newspaper clippings. One of the founding members was Robert Groff, former President and General Manager of the Leffel Company.
