Scope and Content
The American Society of Aviation Artists Records document the art of leading aviation artists in this country and around the world. The accompanying records provide insight into the process and subjects of aviation art.
Series I: Artists
The ASAA records include individual biographical files on many aviation artists. Many files contain correspondence, subject research materials, photographs and slides of artists and their works, as well as sketches and preliminary drawings. Many of the photographs correspond to prints in Series III. The artist files are arranged alphabetically by last name.
Series II: Organizational Material
These records include ASAA event programs, logos, pamphlets, contest results and other similar items.
Series III: Art Prints
These prints represent the work of many aviation artists. An Access database at the reference desk shows what work is on loan in the Special Collections and Archives. The prints are located in oversized storage
