Abstract
Edith McClure Patterson served on the Dayton Board of Education during the early 1930s and from 1915-1939 she was the first woman to serve on the Ohio Board of Liquor Control. In 1932, she ran unsuccessfully for Congress. Patterson was active in welfare and education work, and made a lifelong study of problems affecting the home and children.
