An artificial collection, gathered from many sources by a rare book seller, which includes trade brochures, honorary programs, passes, certificates and photographs on aviation from the early 20th century.

Abstract

The Miles S. Kuhns Papers consist mainly of correspondence related to Kuhns' political career. It contains many lobbying letters from citizens and organizations. Almost half of the collection relates to Kuhns' work with the Ohio Revolutionary War Memorial Commission. A third section consists of personal correspondence and ephemera Kuhns received throughout his career.

Scope and Contents The collection contains a two-page letter typed by a World War I soldier returning by ship to the United States from Europe. The letter describes the conditions and activities aboard the transport ship U.S.S. Aeolus, on which he is travelling, as well as the writer’s duties while he is aboard. Scope and Contents

The collection consists of postcards, primarily of Wilbur Wright's time in France demonstrating the Flyer; and photographs (some of which are copies) of flight demonstrations in France and Germany, the Wright B Flyer, and awards and celebrations that include the Dayton Home Days parade in June 1909.
