Marianna McKnight Nixon was a lifelong Daytonian and descendant of several prominent families of the Dayton area, including the McKnights, Dovers, and Van Cleves. The collection is primarily comprised of photographs of Marianna’s life and family, as well as correspondence, genealogical information, and printed materials such as newspaper clippings, brochures, and periodicals.

Adelaide Patricia O'Brien Papers

A native of Sharonville, Ohio, Patricia O'Brien was a successful singer and actress in New York City during the early part of this century. She returned to Dayton in 1917 and became manager of the Dayton Symphony Association. She also worked as a promoter of local theatrical events. Her papers include correspondence, photographs, diaries, and miscellaneous items.

The Ohio Federation of Republican Women (OFRW), founded in 1929, is the smaller, state representation of the larger National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). Today OFRW is a volunteer based organization which seeks to support and cultivate Republican women of all ages in the state of Ohio. This collection contains the organization’s meeting minutes, member lists, correspondence, reports, fundraising materials, programs, photographs, awards, newsletters, and newspaper clippings.

This collection documents the career of Dayton Daily News columnist and Kettering resident, D.L. Stewart. The collection is entirely made up of Stewart's column from 1975 to 2011. The column was nationally syndicated in 1980 and featured over fifty newspapers nationwide. In the column Stewart discusses popular culture, sports, and family in a humorous and sometimes sincere tone. Stewart has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize five times and is the author of four books.

This collection consists of four items: one Funeral registry for Felix Carl Utermoehlen; two newspaper clippings, one titled "Watched Ghouls Work As Flood Victims Cried in Vain for Assistance" which details scenes viewed by Mrs. Felix Utermoehlen, and another clipping on Felix's father, Theodore Utermoehlen who served as a mechanic for the Wright Brothers; and also an envelope containing the funeral purchase agreement.
