Interview with Don L. Crawford, executive assistant and clerk for the Dayton, Ohio, City Commission. Crawford was previously a Dayton city commissioner, from 1962-1967, and was the first African-American person to serve on Dayton's city commission. They discuss Crawford's political career, as well as the contributions of other black politicians in Dayton such as C. J. McLin, Sr., and James H. McGee, and the responsibility to serve and to "keep the door open" for others.

Fisher was the first black person in the Dayton Prosecutor's office and later the first black person to be elected as a Judge of Dayton Municipal Court.
