Scope and Contents

The collection consists of a microfilm copy of a single diary. The diary's title page says "Father Bomgardner Wm. Wilson Weather Diary Route 5." The first part of the volume includes a weather log with daily notations, from January 1909 through June 1912. The second part of the volume consists of a brief autobiography of William H. Bomgardner (11 pages) that appears to date between 1906 and 1915. In the autobiography, Bomgardner describes traveling from Maryland to Ohio with his parents in 1832, visiting Dayton first then ultimately settling in "Carlisle" (New Carlisle); he also describes meeting his wife, their children, and their home.
