Scope and Contents
The collection consists of one book containing handwritten minutes from three meetings of the Farmer’s Institute of Bethel Township, a Clark County, Ohio agricultural improvement society that met in New Carlisle. The first minutes include the text of the organization’s constitution, drawn from a suggestion by the Ohio State Board of Agriculture. Other minutes are for several meetings of the executive committee. Minutes include notes of the agricultural debate topics that the group discussed, including topics like soil quality, profit, cultivation strategies in Ohio.
