Frederick N. Young Papers

Abstract

The papers in this collection cover the years 1968-1976 when Young served as a State Representative from Dayton to the Ohio General Assembly. The majority of the papers consist of correspondence with constituents and political colleagues. There are also working papers, clippings, reports, speeches, and campaign materials. There is also a file of correspondence and photographs on the 1970 Kent State University incident.

Margaret Shardelow Young Papers

Abstract

Dayton native, Margaret Shardelow Young, was a member of the Friday Afternoon Club, one of the city's oldest women's literary clubs. She was also a local school teacher and long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Dayton. The collection includes her Friday Afternoon Club writings, schoolbooks, teaching notes, photographs, and greeting cards with her original poetry.

Young Women's League of Dayton Records

Abstract

The Young Women's League of Dayton was founded in 1898 by former members of the local YWCA. It's purpose was to "promote the moral, mental, and physical welfare of young women" and its activities supported young working women in particular. Records include minutes, financial records, publications, correspondence, scrapbooks, photographs, and materials pertaining to the League's operation of a boarding house for young women.
