Scope and Contents

All the photos of this collection were taken sometime between 1941 and 1944 at the Dayton-area Frigidaire Plant 3.

The first folder contains 35 small black and white photos documenting the day-to-day manufacturing of .50 caliber Browning machines guns within Plant 3.

The second folder contains 16 large black and white photos documenting a company event celebrating the 250,000th gun manufactured by Frigidaire. There is a picture of Selma eating cake in this folder.

Abstract

This collection contains materials assembled by the Belmont Bison (High School) Alumni Association, Dayton, Ohio, covering the history of the school, focusing primarily on student and alumni activities. The majority of the collection is comprised of photographs and slides, but also includes newsletters and newspaper articles along with award plaques and miscellaneous memorabilia.

The T. E. Bennett Aviation Collection is a small collection of World War I and Post-World War I related documents collected by Mr. Bennett. The collection is divided into two major series: Dayton Aero Club papers and U.S. Army publications.

Abstract The collection consists of papers covering Freeman Bentley's life, focusing on his scientific career and his research in spectroscopy. The majority of the material in this collection is scientific in nature and includes test results, data sheets, technical reports and articles. Bentley authored many of the technical reports and articles in this collection. This collection consists of eleven 2-3/4" x 4-3/4" black and white photographs documenting the overnight stop at McCook Field of the Douglas World Cruiser "Around the World" Flight in 1924. The photos are dated September 13, 1924 and were taken by Donovan Berlin.

Abstract

Berndt was a German scientist who came to the U.S.A. as part of Operation Paperclip at the close of WWII. His collection primarily documents his work in parachute development, in both Germany and the United States, from the WWII era through the Cold War. Materials include photographs, scientific test notes, educational records, security investigation reports, German identification papers, resumes, memoir, and other documents.

Abstract

The collection consists of interurban train schedules for cities in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The schedules include information about the train lines, arrival and departure times, stations, distances, and sometimes fares, as well as advertisements and often a short business directory for the particular city. The advertisements were sold by L. M. Berry, later founder of L. M. Berry and Company, an extremely successful telephone directory publishing company.

Scope and Contents The collection two sheets of handwritten documentation concerning the settlement of debts of Samuel and Mary Berryhill, following their deaths. One page, from 1851-1852, details Samuel Berryhill’s debt of $31.80 to William Sheppeard, for home improvements/repairs in July 1849. It features an order from Joseph Mason, Justice of the Peace, that Mary Berryhill, administrator of Samuel Berryhill’s estate, pay the debt. The second sheet of paper, signed by William L.
