Abstract

This collection consists of a self-published autobiography by Anna Gee Blackwell titled He's All I Need: My Life Story. The book not only details Ms. Blackwell's life, but also serves as a chronicle of mid-to-late 20th Century middle-class African-American experience in the Miami Valley.

Abstract

Antioch College, established in 1850, is a liberal arts college in Yellow Springs, Ohio. This collection contains a series of Antioch documents and publications which range from Antioch’s articles of incorporation to general catalogues, advertising pamphlets, alumni directories, and yearbooks. This collection offers insight into the philosophy, history, and culture of Antioch College.

Abstract

Founded in 1986, the Antioch Writers' Workshop is a nonprofit organization that encourages creative writing by offering classes and seminars. It has evolved over the years from a community of writers who mingled with faculty and students informally throughout the day into a fiscal agent of the Antioch College. The records include meeting minutes, correspondence, financial and membership records, photographs, posters, VHS, pamphlets, newsletters, and multimedia.

Abstract

The Vincent G. Apple Papers is a collection of work and administrative records for Vincent G. Apple, a Dayton inventor. The collection contains numerous patents, patent applications, engineering drawings, journals, legal agreements and correspondence, business records and correspondence, and the Ford Trial records.

Abstract

The Area Progress Council was formed in 1961 with the common concern for the progress of the Miami Valley. The Council was instrumental in the establishment of Wright State University and its medical school. This collection contains administrative materials, primarily meeting minutes, presentations, reports, and correspondence; and financial records, including budgets and annual financial summaries.

Abstract Edwin Armstrong was active in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers between 1901 and 1921. He also had a passion for natural history and was an avid collector of fossils.The Edwin James Armstrong papers contain the personal and business papers of not only Edwin, but of his second wife Jessie Wheeler Armstrong, and her sister Mabel Wheeler. Scope and Contents

Collection includes letters written to and from an army officer, mostly to his family in Vevay, Indiana, which cover his experiences in the early 19th century frontier army as well as his duty in the Mexican War where he was killed during the Battle of Molino del Ray.
