Abstract

Eleven volumes of scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, follow the history of the Dayton GEMS professional hockey organization in Dayton, Ohio as a new team in the IHL (International Hockey League) in 1964. Edgar "Lefty" McFadden was instrumental in starting the team, and served as general manager. There is information about players, trades, media coverage, fans, statistics, league standings, etc.

Abstract

Consists of records from the Dayton Gospel Mission while under the leadership of Frederick S. Hixon. Included are some of Hixon's sermons and poems, Sunday school records, attendance and financial records, a building ledger, service records, flyers, and photographs.

The Dayton Liederkranz-Turner Collection documents the experience of German-Americans for over one hundred years going back to 1890 through 2007. The evolution of the organization reflects both local and national changes. The activities and goals of the Dayton Chapter, as well as their involvement with other chapters, is documented. The collection includes organization histories, meeting minutes, financial records, correspondence, membership records, publications, and programs.

This collection contains business records of the Dayton Malleable Iron Company, including journals, cash books, trial balances, ledgers, purchase records, production, shipping and sales records, and payroll books. It also contains written histories, an early minutes volume, and stock certificates.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains a medium-sized fold-out map of the city of Dayton for 1925. The map also details demographic data for 1925 as well as a list of general business areas labeled where “Dayton Leads the World in Manufacture.” The map was produced by the Dayton Chamber of Commerce.

The collection is composed of an alphabetized index of internments, current up to its printing on May 20, 2003. The index is arranged alphabetically by last name and provides the following information: Name of Deceased, Service #, Grdn, Section, Lot, Sb, Sp, Sex, Age, Service Date, Type, and Veteran.

Abstract The Dayton-Miami Valley AFL-CIO Records contain material relating to the local AFL and CIO Unions and their merger in 1959, and its functions as a merged organization from 1960-1974. Records on the Industrial Union Council, from 1945 to 1959, include the constitution and charter of the union, the minutes of delegate and executive meetings, and reports of the various committees.
