Abstract

Consists of articles, letters, speeches, and clippings pertaining to the Wright Brothers collected by the Air Force Museum at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton. Subjects covered include removal of Wright buildings from Dayton, interviews and personal history of the Wrights, the Smithsonian-Langley controversy, obituaries, funerals, and miscellaneous aviation materials.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains 35 slides of various airfields, primarily ones local to the Dayton, Ohio, region. The dates range between 1920s-1940s.

Born and raised in Yellow Springs, Carr had a long, distinguished career working in Europe for the Red Cross and the Near East Foundation as a nurse and public health administrator. Her papers include extensive correspondence, journal articles, reports, working papers, clippings, genealogical materials, and photographs.

Allaman was active locally in the field of children's social services. He held several posts in the Ohio-Kentucky area including Superintendent of the Montgomery County Juvenile Court, Director of the Louisville Children's Home, and Superintendent of Shawen Acres, the Montgomery County Children's Home. His papers consist of correspondence, case notes, published and unpublished papers, programs, conference materials, photographs, reports, and awards.

Abstract Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary fraternal organization for women educators, was founded in 1947. The Ohio Epsilon Chapter was established in Dayton, Ohio, in 1957.The Epsilon Chapter holds monthly meetings and participates in several events. Since their founding, they have regularly hosted guest speakers and attended state conventions. Abstract

Photographs, scrapbooks, minutes, treasurer notes, and program booklets providing memorabilia of meetings and events hosted by the Ohio Kappa Chapter in the span of 1959-2012.

Abstract

This collection consists of minutes of the various business meetings that relate to the Dayton chapter of the Altrusa Club. Information on the organizational structure including bylaws for the National organization is also included. Yearbooks from the local chapter, scrapbooks and other memorabilia can found in this collection as well as newsletters from both the local and national organization.
