Abstract

Welty served in the US Army Signal Corps during World War I and was killed in action just before the war ended in November 1918. His papers consist of school and military records as well as correspondence offering condolences to his Ohio family after his death.

The Gladys Chaney Wessels Papers are comprised of documents, photographs, scrapbooks, correspondence, and audiovisual materials, all relating to the life and work of Gladys Chaney Wessels, a prominent educator and social activist in the Dayton, Ohio area. The papers include items from her personal life as well as the numerous institutions and women's rights groups of which she has been a part.

A collection of 19th and early 20th century papers consisting mainly of the family correspondence of the Wheeler and Betts families as they moved around the Midwest. Abstract

The Charles O. Wolpers Papers consist of early 19th century daybooks, journals, and financial ledgers from stores that Wolpers owned in Bellefontaine (earlier named Belleville) and Germantown, Ohio. Also included are a few letters written to Wolpers by his brother in Germany.

The Woodhull-Patterson Family papers consist primarily of genealogical information and photographs pertaining to the Woodhull and Patterson families. There are also materials related to the history of Dayton and the surrounding area.

Scope and Contents

The microfilm contains genealogical notes and working papers collected by Bishop Milton Wright (1828-1917), the father of the Wright Brothers. The materials date between 1779-1973 and cover the following families: Reeder, Wright, Brown, Koerner, Croddy, Brader, Andrews, Freeman, Harris, Benham, Stokes, Convenhoven, Van Cleve, Swaynie, Fry, Porter, Moody, Lake, Eudaly, Dover, Holt, Baker, and Gano.
