Hiram Ketcham Civil War Diary

Abstract The collection consists of an original Civil War pocket diary written by Hiram Ketcham of Buchanan, Ohio, and a typed transcript. The diary begins with Ketcham reporting for duty at Circleville in the 12th District of Ohio after being drafted into U.S. Service on September 27, 1864. Ketcham was assigned to Company G of the 67th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry (O.V.I.). A Special Wish Foundation Records

Abstract

A Special Wish Foundation, Inc. was the first wish-granting organization in the State of Ohio and the third such organization in the nation, when it was founded in 1982. This records collection largely contains the meeting minutes from 1989-2011, media coverage from approximately 2000-2009 and photographs from numerous wishes. The collection also contains audio-visual media including pictures, negatives, VHS, CDs, and DVDs.

The Ohio Federation of Republican Women (OFRW), founded in 1929, is the smaller, state representation of the larger National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). Today OFRW is a volunteer based organization which seeks to support and cultivate Republican women of all ages in the state of Ohio. This collection contains the organization’s meeting minutes, member lists, correspondence, reports, fundraising materials, programs, photographs, awards, newsletters, and newspaper clippings.

Allaman was active locally in the field of children's social services. He held several posts in the Ohio-Kentucky area including Superintendent of the Montgomery County Juvenile Court, Director of the Louisville Children's Home, and Superintendent of Shawen Acres, the Montgomery County Children's Home. His papers consist of correspondence, case notes, published and unpublished papers, programs, conference materials, photographs, reports, and awards.

Dr. Joshua Martin was a well-known physician in Xenia, Ohio, from 1813 to 1857. The collection consists of two diplomas, written in Latin, that Martin earned from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1826.
