In addition to the telephone pole lines, the photograph shows: residences in Mad River Township, probably in the vicinity of what later became North Smithville Road. (The "Big Four" refers to the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis Railway, or "C.C.C. & St.L. R.R.")
