Scope and Contents
Rose Mary Lawson interviewe Helga Silbermann about her life before, during, and after World War II. In her interview Silbermann discusses being her early childhood in Berlin, Germany, her family history, and her religious background. Over the course of the interview she details how she began hiding from the Gestapo in Berlin and staying in a variety of places with different people that she knew or met. Towards the end of the interview Silbermann talks about coming to America, how she felt about the country, and how she eventually arrived in Dayton.
