Scope and Contents
Dr. Robert Friedman interviewed Dr. Margaret Ebert about her life before, during, and after World War II. Ebert at first discusses her childhood and family history before leaving Germany after Kristallnacht in 1938. Ebert also discussed experiences with anti-semitism, her traveling the United States, her first job, and more. A year later Barbara Turoff conducted a second interview with Dr. Ebert on Aug 19th, 1979. In this interview Ebert recounts her work in Germany as an economist, and that she didn't really encounter anti-semitism in Germany until after Hitler's rise as well as her knowledge of German politics and history at that time.
