Scope and Content
The Permanent Building and Savings Association Records consist of Board of Trustees minutes, lists of stockholders, cash books, weekly receipts, loan applications, and records of individual borrowers. The early records are in German.
I. Records (1874-1910) Consists of lists of individual stockholders with shares, stocks, amounts, repaid, and dividends.
II. Minutes (1925-1943) The Board of Trustees of the Permanent Building and Saving Association held weekly meetings and the minutes record business transacted, actions taken and a summary of the disbursement of funds.
III. Weekly Receipts (1882-1887; 1915-1918) A weekly listing of amounts of cash and the individuals from whom it was received.
IV. Cash Books (1904-1918) A weekly record of cash flow.
V. Applications for Loans (1890-1905) Applications include names of persons applying for loans, description of buildings and property, location and value of property, and amount of loan.
VI. Individual Ledgers (1878-1888) Consist of an individual listing of early stockholders and borrowers with amounts paid and owed. These records are in German.
