The Dr. Samuel Martin Papers document the career of a well-known physician in Xenia, Ohio. His papers document his training as a physician at the University of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland. Included in his papers are admission tickets for training he attended in Ireland and his diploma from the School of Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland. Also found in his papers are Dr. Martin’s Naturalization certificate, certificates documenting his membership in the Pennsylvania militia and the Ohio State Medical Society, and an honorary doctorate from the Ohio Medical College in Cincinnati, Ohio. There is also a hand-written report on a rupture of gravid uterus, a photograph of Dr. Martin, and an ivory memo pad.
