 File — Box: 1, Folder: 1

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection consists of a miscellaneous collection of receipts, correspondence, executions and summons, photographs, articles of agreement, etc., mainly from Darke County, Ohio.

The first two folders contain primarily Darke County local government records such as contracts, executions, and summons. Many of these records were signed by William Hess or Jesse R. Hyer, both of whom were Justices of the Peace for Franklin Township in the late 1800s.

The last two folders have a less obvious Darke County connection and include programs, receipts, pamphlets, and other ephemera.

Recurrent names in the collection include William Hess (J.P.), Jesse R. Hyer (J.P.), Cotterell, Davis, Marker, McAnally, Metcalfe, Norton, Poock, Richardson, and Wellbaum.
