DVD Video - Dayton Riots (1960s), 1963 - 1971
Scope and Contents
The following description was provided by Sgt. Steve Grismer (retired):
"Three canisters of film were discovered by Dayton Police Homicide Detective Daryl Smith in a box at the Montgomery County Sheriff Office firearms range. He notified Dayton Police History Foundation, Inc. which, in turn, notified MCSO Sgt. Kurt Althouse. The Sergeant spoke with Sheriff Phil Plummer, who donated the three films to the Dayton History-NCR Archive Center.
Each of the films is about 25-30 minutes in length.
"These three films were transferred into a digital format on a single DVD at a professional studio in Columbus, Ohio thanks to $710.00 in donations to Dayton Police History Foundation, Inc. by 21 active and retired DPD officers and MCSO deputies and other friends. A copy was provided to Wright State University Paul Laurence Dunbar Library Archives for its 'Dayton Police Department Collection'. The Dayton History Archive Center retains the proprietary rights to the images on this DVD."
