 Item — Multiple Containers

Scope and Contents

Becky Rehling, daughter of Agnes Beck who was a close friend of Katharine Wright, visits with Ivonette and Harold Miller in preparation to write a book on Katharine Wright. The unpublished manuscript is in MS-593 Elizabeth Beck Rehling Papers. During the conversation Ivonette reads letters from Katharine to Agnes from when Katharine was caring for Orville at Ft. Myer following his accident in 1908 and a letter following her marriage to Harry Haskell describing her life in Kansas City. Becky recalls her few memories of Katharine Wright. Ivonette also reads from a letter in possession of Becky Rehling, written by Wilbur Wright while he was in France. They discuss their views on Katharine's role and contributions in the Wright Brothers story, whether Katharine sewed or not, and Marvin McFarland's book on the Papers of Wilbur and Orville Wright. Note that there is a background beat in the audio of the tape.
