Clippings—Obituaries, 1986-2004

Series I, Photos and Drawings, contains photos of Josephine teaching ballet, a photo with George Balanchine, and photocopies of drawings for Jo’s History of Dance for young dancers.

Series II, Clippings and Articles, contains newspaper clippings featuring the Schwarz sisters’ accomplishments in life, obituaries for the sisters, and a few articles featuring Joyce Wolfe. It also contains magazine articles, one about Josephine and one written by her.

Series III, Correspondence, contains letters and cards exchanged mainly between Joyce and Josephine but also between the Schwarz sisters.

Series IV, Programs and Flyers, contains flyers and programs for Dayton Ballet performances and memorial services for the Schwarz sisters.

Series V, Scrapbook and Memorabilia, contains a scrapbook filled with newsletters, correspondence, photos and the like relating to Schwarz School of Dance and its alumni association, as well as a folder of similar items that were loose in the scrapbook. It also contains buttons that read Thanks, Stuart!
