Scope and Contents
This ledger book and journal documents financial transactions and glimpses of daily life of a farming family near Dayton, Ohio, from the 1850s to the 1870s. Included are notes surrounding purchase and sale of supplies, equipment, food, and clothing, as well as tax payments and payments made to a local church. The book also documents transactions for services that the Moler family performed for others in the region, such as hauling lumber. Scattered throughout the book are occasional, brief entries documenting daily farm duties, including the care of animals. Additionally, several pages include drafts of correspondence.
