Biography
SEMLER, Robert F. "Bob" age 88, of Fairborn, died peacefully Saturday, April 28, 2012. Bob was born in Osborn, OH Sept. 8, 1923 to the late Herman and Callie (Axman) Semler; was an Army Air Corp veteran; retired from WPAFB. He was a member of the American Legion Post #526; Friends of the National Museum of the U.S.A.F.; and of the Waco Historical Society. Preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 45 years, Mildred C. (Lytle) Semler and a sister, Marianna Maurer. Survived by his daughter, Susan Semler; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Janice Semler; 1 sister, Dorothy Whitaker and a close friend, Harrison "Bud" Golem. Funeral service 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Burcham Jennings Funeral Home. Interment Byron Cemetery. Bob's family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Air Force Museum Foundation Inc. or the Miami Valley Hospital Cardiac Rehab Department.
