Earhart, Amelia, 1897-1937

This collection contains two aviation-related items. The first is the business card of Giovanni Caproni, the Italian manufacturer of the Caproni bomber. The second is a pass to the 25th Anniversary of the First Flight, December 17, 1928, belonging to C.C. Frost Jr., and autographed on the back by Amelia Earhart and G. Caproni.

This collection consists of two comic books that tell the story of aviation pioneers, the Wright Brothers and Amelia Earhart.

Ball was a newspaper reporter and editor who specialized in space and aviation. He spent the major portion of his career writing for the Detroit Free Press. Papers include news articles pertaining to various aviation subjects, correspondence, an autographed photograph of Amelia Earhart, and fabric from the wing of the first airplane to complete a trans-continental flight (1911).

C.T. Hutchins was an advertising executive with the Goodyear Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, who had an interest in lighter than-air-aviation. His papers include personal and family letters, photographs, cards, news clippings, and memorabilia pertaining to early aviation. Of particular interest is material on the Goodyear-Zeppelin christening in Akron in 1931, and a folder pertaining to Amelia Earhart's visit to Akron in 1929.

Scrapbook containing articles and information on aviation crashes, women in aviation (including the search for Amelia Earhart), and aviation fiction, dating between 1935 and early 1940s.

Contains original photographs of Amelia Earhart and photographs of the Wright Brothers.
