Abstract

The collection consists of interurban train schedules for cities in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The schedules include information about the train lines, arrival and departure times, stations, distances, and sometimes fares, as well as advertisements and often a short business directory for the particular city. The advertisements were sold by L. M. Berry, later founder of L. M. Berry and Company, an extremely successful telephone directory publishing company.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of 10 interurban schedules from Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The schedules are from the years 1909 and 1910. As expected, each schedule provides departure and arrival times of the interurban. There is also a list of local businesses on the back of each schedule card as well as an advertisement.

Abstract Harley R. Schneider was an employee of Northwest Airlines Corp. Schneider was a civil engineer employed to modify World War II bombers at Northwest Airlines Corp. Modification Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Northwest Airlines expanded their facilities in 1943 which included a new Modification Center in Vandalia, Ohio.
